We build upon foundational coursework in biology and chemistry to examine the structure, properties, and functions of molecules that make up living systems.
A Broad and Vibrant Discipline
We are driven to understand how biological and chemical principles play out in living systems. We shed light on cellular events that occur during normal and disease processes, ultimately yielding fundamentally important knowledge that empowers us to predict, alter and harness the chemistry of living systems.
The chemistry and biochemistry scholar was invited to the Nobel Prize ceremony in Sweden by this year’s chemistry laureate. As a former student of Carolyn Bertozzi, Danielle Dube contributed directly to the prizewinning research.
The Bowdoin College Library recently launched an exhibit featuring a newly acquired collection of Spanish language children’s books. It’s part of an initiative to help students teach language skills to local elementary school kids.
